About Don't Blink Tees
Don't Blink Tees is an indepenedently run specialty t-shirt shop offering products inspired by Doctor Who, video games, movies, books and more.
In July 2009, I decided to get in on the trend of "Keep Calm and Carry On" parody posters (which was still clever and fresh back then). My idea was to mix the iconic WWII-era poster with one of my favorite television programs, Doctor Who. The resulting poster design featured the words "Keep Calm and Don't Blink" beneath an image of The Doctor's TARDIS. My poster was an imidiate hit with Doctor Who fans around the globe.
I began selling the first ever "Keep Calm and Don't Blink" t-shirts and posters that same year through a tiny shop on Cafe Press. But soon, the itch to create and design more t-shirts grew too great to ignore.
I launched Don't Blink Tees in April 2011 as an outlet for my "Keep Calm and Don't Blink" shirts, but also for other tees inspired by my own geeky interests and obsessions. Like my "Keep Calm and Don't Blink" shirts, every t-shirt on Don't Blink Tees is 100% originally designed by me and inspired by all the things I love most.
Don't Blink Tees is not a traditional "pop-culture" t-shirt site. You won't find the latest viral video immortalized here on an American Apparel Tee.
Don't Blink Tees will always be about quality over quantity.
N.B.: Prior to my original idea to combine the "Keep Calm" posters with the "Don't Blink" message, there were no other "Keep Calm and Don't Blink" t-shirts, posters, mugs, buttons, icons, stickers, ANYTHING in existence. No one was using it as the name of their blog, or as their email address, or as their forum username. In 2009, this was an original idea that no one had done before. The phrase did not exist until I created it that year.
Currently, the phrase is everywhere, and there are many other large and small retailers selling "Keep Calm and Don't Blink" t-shirts and merchandise. I have NO affiliation with them. I DO NOT receive any proceeds, profits, commissions or royalties for sales of their "Keep Calm and Don't Blink" products. Nor did any of them consult me prior to their decisions to print "Keep Calm and Don't Blink" merchandise. As the original artist, creator and inventor of the "Keep Calm and Don't Blink" slogan, the ONLY places I sell my t-shirts and posters are through this website, Dontblinktees.com, and my Red Bubble Store.
